Hello, a few buddies and I are planning a four or five day trip to Charleston on either the weekend of September 23rd, or October 21st. I am looking for opinions on the better time to visit between these two, based on weather and things going on, prices, etc. We would like to stay downtown, or a short uber ride away if possible. Any opinions on late September vs late October? We are from South Dakota, so "chillier" weather will still be quite balmy to us!
I would agree on the October option because September can still be hot and humid, though you never really know. May I suggest that you do more than just see Manhattan, but also come on over to Brooklyn. Lots of cool things to see and do here and tons of great food.

Either Jenet got the forums mixed up.... or maybe it's a simile for seeing Mt. Pleasant as well as Charleston?
You know, as they say, come over to the pleasant side!
September / October best time to visit Charleston. Don't worry about hurricanes, it is part of life living on the coast.
