You can do a search on it.
Mcclellanville was one of the worst hit areas, along with the inland areas on down to Georgetown. We lost pretty much everything we owned from water and wind damage.

This article will give you an idea how far the water comes in. No, it doesn't go to S'Ville. Here is also a pic of someone's home after Hugo came through.

The tidal surge from Hugo did not go inland as far as Summerville however the damages from Hugo stretched inland in many areas of South Carolina and into Charlotte and beyond. The McCleanville area had major devistation from water as did Charleston and up the Coast to Garden City and Myrtle Beach.
Had the eye of Hugo hit in more populated areas, the losses would have been much greater. Dealing with the water is only one part of the devistation Hurricanes can bring. The wind, rain, and tornados can also cause serious damage.
Several years ago, the September Hurricanes that hit Florida spawned tornadoes in the Pee Dee of South Carolina. Many times the torrential rains that come along with tropical systems cause flooding far from Coastal Communities.
