Default Moving to take a job in Mt. Pleasant

I'm possibly moving to the Charleston area, to take a job in the town of Mount Pleasant. I was wondering if anyone could point me to an area or town that would be good to live in. I live with my girlfriend, and have a cat. We are both 23 and surf, also like going to bars, and taking day trips. I am planning on spending around $1000 a month for housing, including utilities. If anyone has any ideas on what town or area we should be looking that would help greatly.

Thanks for all the info about surfing, but what about apartment complex's or info on renting a house. I should have been a little more specific, I want to spend about $1000 to $1200 a month, thats what I spent now living in Connecticut. I am planning on taking a trip down there in the beggining of April, and I would like to have a few recommendations on where to look.

I found my place using Charleston Real Estate Guide.com
It is essentially the MLS of all rental listings as well as for sale listings in the greater Charleston area. You might want to go there and search for places in your price range in either Folly Beach or James Island which is next to and what you drive through to get to Folly Island and Folly BEach.

There are 51 two bedroom rental units in the mls in the town of Mt. Pleasant under 1200. As I have pointed out in the past, most Realtor web sites will allow you or anyone to search for rental units in any area of Charleston. Some of the better ones provide not only the ability to search for homes for sale and rent, but also offer information and photos of the different communities, neighborhoods and amenities in the subdivisions in which these homes are located. Most Realtors will be glad to answer specific questions about an apartment complex or subdivision that may "Look good on paper."
