Default Weather comparisons

Hello-we are looking at the areas around Charleston, currently in West Palm Beach FL. Would like to know what year round weather is like in Charleston-how hot and, more importantly, how humid. Can anybody compare it to the weather in the southeast coast of FL?
Thank you.

I can tell you what it has been like since just before Christmas when I moved here. When I arrived on Dec 20th at about 8PM it was warm enough to open the sliding glass doors and smell the balmy tropical air. I think about 1/3 of the days it was in the 70s but mostly it was in the 60's during the day and cooler at night.

In January and February it got cooler. I think there were one or two nights when there was a frost scare but most nights its been in the 40's ..and 50's and 60's during the day with maybe a few days in the 70's. There were a handful of days where either the windchill made it feel colder or the actual temperature only got up to 49 degrees or so.

Now the forecast is for 70's all week long and one day maybe reaching 80. It's really nice now.

I would say January and February weather here is comparable to early fall in southern New England -- very pleasant! It is cold enough during the day for a jacket maybe only a few weeks during the winter but it is best to have one if you are going out at night. Otherwise all you need is a sweater or maybe not even that.

If you look up subtropics in Wikipedia, Charleston is included along with Houston Tx and Orlando Fl.

They say Charleston weather is comparable to Jacksonville FL...I would imagine in W Palm you are definitely more Humid than here...With that said tho, the humidity is still nasty in July & Aug...

I think Emily hit it good with her analysis...For me I hate the summertime, but there's 8 good months that you can really enjoy...This is one of those months...
