Default Vibe/Nightlife of Charleston?

I am relocating back to the US and I am trying to find a close replacement to LA/DC/Miami (which I previously lived)..BUT a replacement in the south!

What is the nightlife like/people look like/dress like? I am trying to get an image of the nightlife and public (?)....
Would you consider Charleston to have more than a "beer crowd"?

Thanks so much for any info!

Closer to LA/DC/Miami? Atlanta might be closer.

Charleston's closer to Georgetown, Old Town Alexandria, etc.

Aha! ---I have been to Atlanta and I thought it was kind of ghetto no offense....

Georgetown/Alexandria still have class, so that is not sounding so bad!....

There is a variety. Some places have a "beer" crowd, others would have whatever you're after. The choices will be less than in a bigger city, but Charleston has good nightlife for a city its size.

Good, as long as there are options!...Sometimes with the positive qualities of the south (charm and culture), trendiness and diverse options seem few unfortunately ---
Its sounds worth a venture!

Thank U!

Sounds like Atlanta to me. You must have only visited a few sections of town cause Atlanta has some REALLY nice areas...especially on the north/northeast side of the actual city.

Charleston is much more than a beer town but the selection of club type venues isn't all that great and the best ones are small. I suggest a visit to Charleston to see what you think and check out clubs like Torch, Raval, Trio. They more closely resemble what you'll find in Miami/LA type areas (much smaller though of course). If it's not for you, def try ATL. BUT don't leave Charleston without taking in a good meal...!

Yeh, I went Atlanta suring all star weekend, that may have been some of the problem!..It was a few years back, I kind of want to avoid the gold fake teeth and cadys....I dealt with that in DC -------------I'll have to investigate possibly what areas I missed, thanks for mentioning so!....
