We have a custom built solid mahogany Parson dining table that is in need of repair and that we would like re-stained. It's a very heavy and super expensive piece of furniture and I need someone I can trust with it. I've done some google research but it's hard to know who the best artisan would be.

Anyone have any experience with any of the local businesses and have any recommendation/feedback?

Thanks

I have had a very positive experience with Paragon Painting. This is a Father & Son team, we used them to paint our Kitchen Cabinets. We went from the generic stained Maple to a nice antique white finish -- brightened up the whole room. They took the doors off, and sanded / finished them in their shop, painted the boxes in our house, and then put the whole thing back together again.

I would recommend these guys for any kind of painting or re-finishing. Google 'em up.

Soul, I have a client who just used Charleston Finishing to repair a natural stained fireplace mantle that tenants had burned part of. She said they did an excellent job. Home

Otherwise, I would talk to some of the antique dealers around here for recommendations.
