Default Renter's Insurance

I know flooding is an issue, especially downtown. Considering that, are there any renters that carry insurance and, if so, does it cover flood damage? If it doesn't, it seems kind of pointless to carry it if floods are the only plausible reason to have it outside fire, which could happen anywhere.

Always get flood insurance. Especially if you are a renter. Flood claims are typically from areas that are NOT in flood plain areas.

It's cheaper & can be well worth it.
