Default Mt. Pleasant daycare

I am new to the area and in need of daycare for my 3 month old. Can anyone shed any light on how the following daycares measure up?

Sunshine House (Park West)
Starfish Academy
Stepping Stones (i haven't heard good things about this one so far)

If there are others, please let me know.

Thanks!

I don't know about the daycare, because our son is now four,But you may want to also look at the churches. I did not know that it was a southern thing untill My wife told me. There are " Mothers day out " programs, some are only a few hours . While some have the ability for kids to stay all day. We sent our son to one and it was really more like a pre- school they taught him about everything and got him ready for school.

I also asked about pre-schools a few weeks ago and didn't get a response. It seems that the majority of posters on here just don't know... their kids are either grown or they don't have any, or they are relocating to the area, so they just don't have any advice to offer yet. Anyway, I am relocating in June, so I don't have much to offer, but I did want to say that we went and checked out the Children's Center at Carolina Park. We were VERY impressed and I would put my child there without hesitation. Unfortunately, their half-day program for 3 year olds is full. I will definitely look into putting my son there next year. Good luck!

Sorry I'm not familiar with any daycares in Mt P. My child is a senior in high school and I don't know anyone with small children besides family and they are SAHM.

Have you checked out this site?

http://childcare.sc.gov/main/

Go to the find section and if you play around with it you can find all the complaints made on the daycare and if they were resolved or not. You can also call the DSS worker assigned to the daycare and get some feedback!!

I used it and we are in the process of moving to Summerville area.

Go to www.sunshinehouse.com, they have three locations in Mt. Pleasant. My daughter likes the one on Longpoint Rd. She had to wait about 3 weeks for her child to start.

Default Mt. P. Daycare

I don't know about the other two, but I wouldn't really recommend Stepping Stones. My knowledge of that school is a few years old, but back then they had some "issues." Their staff was not particularly good, and they seemed to have high turnover and dissatisfaction. The facility is also very small for the number of children they accept. It's also independently owned, so unless they've changed things in the past few years, they don't follow a standard curriculum, like some of the bigger chains do. On the plus side, it was clean and some of the staff really seemed to love the children. I think they were pretty new back then, so any of this could have changed since then.

Default O'Quinn

We loved The O'Quinn School on Houston Northcutt. My son was there until we moved out of the area. It's a fabulous preschool.
