Default Charlestowne Montessori School

My family and I are possibly moving to the Charleston area this summer. Our 4 and 6 yr olds are currently attending a Montessori school in Atlanta, and we would like to keep them in a Montessori learning environment it the move happens. We have found the only AMI school in the entire area, and thankfully it's in Charleston! The name of the school is Charlestowne Montessori. Has anyone had any experiences with this particular institution and what are your thoughts?

Also, we have a 15 yr old daughter who will be coming with us. So we are also looking for a good High School for her that has strong academics and great school spirit & pride. Based on this, which high schools would you recommend? She plays basketball and sports and outdoor activites are a pretty big part of our lives. We are hoping to find a nice middle class area to live in($350k-$550k price range), as close to town as possible, not too far from the ocean, and relatively convenient to Daniel Island, which is where my office would be located. Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

I've only heard good things about the Montessori school. I'd certainly recommend a visit to speak with the faculty and students first-hand.

As to strong high schools, were you thinking public or private? Wando in Mt. Pleasant certainly ranks strongly as does Bishop England. Not to mention the magnet and other private institutions. For a report on the public schools you could always go to the state website and read through their test scores. https://ssl.sc.gov/SchoolReportCards/

From what you've mentioned in your post, I think a number of neighborhoods in Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, and James Island might suit your needs nicely. All would be close to downtown, relatively close to the beaches, and still within a short/reasonable commute to Daniel Island for work.

Thanks DJ, good feedback. I am going down to interview next week and am planning to give them a visit while I am there. I was thinking public High Shools in fact, thanks for asking. In the meantime I will check out the link you sent. And thanks for recommending those areas....I will check out listings there.
