Hi, my in-laws are considering a move to the Charleston area and would like to be in a one-level condo in a 55 plus community. Can anyone recommend some areas they should check out. They are looking to spend under 200,000.
Thanks!

Default 55+ communities

They should check out Del/Webb Charleston. We moved here from MA and love it. It is under construction and will be for a few years. Many are from out of State. I think you can get the smaller house for under 200,000 and it's really nice. It's worth checking in to. Let me know if you need more info. It's located in Summerville, 30 minutes from downtown Charleston.

I was out a few days at Del Webb taking photos for my web site and thought that forum members might enjoy the updated photos.

Funny how quick this place is growing. I live 1/2 mile from there and seem to never make it back there

I thought it was Centex that was clearing the way. I can hear the noise from where I live. It's on the other side of the tall trees. things are really moving here. Thney have sold quite a few houses this month so far. Will be opening another phase soon. there are so many from NJ and PA. We do have a neighbor from Portland Maine, RI and CT.

It's so nicce to have peofple from our area.

Another neigborhood to consider is in Mount Pleasant's Park West's new Liberty Cottages. I just wrote a blog about this area. It's rather pricey but has alot to offer long term.

After re-reading your post I realize Liberty Cotteges would be too pricey for your parents. I think Del Webb would be a great fit. Oh well hope the post helps someone else.

Ohhhh maybe it is Centex?? Well I guess we're invading your neighborhood!! We are in the same boat here with the residents being NOT from here but instead all up n down the east coast.
