i'll second the Pour House. I think one thing to look at is where this group eats/lives as a starting point for where to locate. I think the area around Park Circle in North CHuck would be a good bet- as well as the general Riverland Terrace, Avondale-Byrnes Downs area and Hampton Park.

That doesn't mean you could not pull it off on King St or in Mt Pleasant but that generally is not where people go to look for more vintage items or artistic endeavors.

The Carraige lane area in West Ashley is also picking up some. I almost wonder if you couldn't let other retailers carry some stuf on consignment. Look at ESD on King and that place on the corner of King/Market (Micci soemthing?) too see if their items match up with what you want to do. Also if you can do the farmer's market, the fairs in Hampton Park & Park Circle or even Folly it might let you get an idea for viability without having to sign your life away to a lease.

Good luck.

ddskies is on a distinguished road
I design vintage style clothing independently and would love to see a true vintage style store opening. Right now I sell my work online. I have been asking myself the same questions as to whether there is a market here for vintage/indie clothing and where. Let me know if you come up with any ideas ! ddskies@operamail.com

I am currently looking for a suitable location and interested parties to open an small eclectic store preferrably downtown Vintage/classic clothing, maybe some funky second hand stuff, and mid-century to contemporary items for the home. It will have to be a small group venture or a co-op. Interested? Get in touch with me FOBofSC@aol.com
