i can't find many pictures of summerville on the net to see what what the scenery is like around there. we're in florida and the pictures of GA looks so beautiful with the green trees and hills however DH wants to be near the ocean for fishing.
someone on this forumn said they saw summerville and were surprised on how rundown it looked. is that true for the most part or is it a nice little town?
It's not run down at all. It is really like two towns in one. The main drag is loaded with shopping, restaurants, hotels, and stores of all types. Main St. Summerville is a quaint little old town. Has the feel like your back in the 50's. Little mom and pops stores and a cute town green.
It is not rundown, everything here is new or is being revamped. Those old buildings that guy was talking about have since been torn down and are being replaced by banks. Another shopping center is being remodeled and more new restaurants and shops are planned.
Summerville is called Flowertown in the Pines and rightly so. There are tons of trees here and they are protected under law. You cannot cut them down without permission. Azalea Park was featured in Southern Living Magazine. We have our shopping and restaurant areas, but beyond that there is mostly greenery. Springtime here is gorgeous with the azaleas blooming. The location is probably the best part, there are so many places you can get to in a reasonable amount of time from here. Charleston, the many beaches, the mountains, Savannah and even Florida.
I'll take some pictures for you this weekend while I'm out, I've been wanting to get some anyway. Check back then.
