Default Musc or Roper Hospital???

I'm just curious which hospital is the better hosptial to work for including best benefits, wages, state of the art equipment and the more employee friendly hospital. Any current or previous employees that could give any information it would be appreciated.
Patty

former musc employee...musc is a state job so you get state benefits. i don't know about roper. you can probably look up the state benefit options online. they're good, that's why a lot of people work there (that and it's hard to get fired from the state - sad but true), but you pay for the benefits too. it's getting more expensive, but working for the state is good. wages for musc (and the state in general) kind of stink and you can be really over worked. i don't want to get on my soap box but if you show any competence you will be taken advantage of (at least where i worked). i couldn't handle it and had to quit. i worked three jobs and was paid for one. no kidding, after i quit 3 people replaced me. wouldn't it have just been cheaper to pay me more? haha. state of the art equipment - musc just opened a new hospital. musc has lots of students, residents, etc.. sometimes the students go to roper too. i think the patients like the students - you will have a team at musc since it's a learning hospital.

hope that helps some. overall, everyone i worked with was friendly, most of the time! but roper's cafeteria is better...haha.
