Default Moving to SC

So I was born in sc and moved when I was three to the great state of Indiana. Anyway I want to relocate my Family back home and wanted to know how the IT field is in that area. Also I see where N. Charleston is 7th most dangerous city in the us. WTF is that all about. My aunt and uncle in Mt Pleasant say it's a great place and want me to move back. But I want my family to be safe. I have looked at Summerville because Mt Pleasant homes cost too much. Any one have any advice on where to live or work? I haven't gone down that way in 27 years and don't remember anything from the first three years.

Thanks

There are a few threads on this forum specifically listing others' questions and answers about local IT jobs, as well as company names and even some reviews by former employees. As to areas of the lowcountry that would be family-friendly, there's plenty to choose from. How much home are you looking for, and what type of price range are you looking in? How about amenities, proximity to beaches, downtown Charleston, work, etc.?

To the point of Charleston being the 7th most dangerous city.

It's not.

Do a search on it on this forum and Google. False data brought about an opinion by someone that was not in a position to speak.

Default Walterboro & Cottageville

Walterboro & Cottageville are nice areas without all the traffic in North Charleston and Summerville. You should check out the real estate bargains here. Century 21 in Walterboro has many good listings that will please your wallet and eye. Cottageville has a brand new, 8.5 million $ elementary school about to open. Walterboro has a nice library, cultural arts center, sc artisan center, annual rice festival, many antique stores, fine dining, bowling center, multi-screen cinema and ice cream truck service to many neighborhoods. It is less than 1 hour to the beaches too! With so much to offer, it is a better place to live than Summerville or N.Charleston.

Thanks for the help guys. I figure the data was off. I am looking forward to moving back. I can't stand this Indiana weather any longer. I have no idea why mom and dad ever left that area.

I would definitely advise that you visit before moving to Charleston!!!! I absolutely love Charleston, but visited a good five years before moving here. There are tons of parks for your dogs and you will definitely find something for yourself - whatever your interested may be! But definitely, without a doubt visit before you make a big move. I'm just saying, I love Alice Sebold and her novels are, for the most part, based between Lancaster, York and Philadelphia, PA, but I really can't stand that area and would never move just because I enjoy her novels.

This website might help and good luck with your decision!!
