Question Where to live on/near the coast for families?

Hi everyone! My husband and I (with our twin 4yr olds) are considering a move to or near the coast in either South Carolina or North Carolina. We are in healthcare (physical and occupational therapy), so we need an area with decent healthcare options. What is really important to us is education, low crime rate, a clean area (not run down) and and sense of community. What areas might be worth considering? We could probably afford a home in the LOW $200s at most. My husband also has his general contractors license and hope to build when the economy improves. Thanks for your input in advance!!

Hi and welcome.
I would suggest that you do a search on the boards for Summerville & Goose Creek(schools, 200's, commute, healthcare,etc.).

You will spend days reading the prior posts that will answer most of your basic questions.

River Run Plantation is worth considering. I think Southport may be worth investing in for the future.

Of course, there's not much outside the gates...
