Default Berkeley County Schools

I am curious of good schools in Berkeley County that is in the lower districts 2,1,5,3,and 4. I want to be in the lower part of the county closer to Charleston and Mt. Pleasant. Is there any I should consider?
Thanks

Are you looking at teaching or sending your kids? The difference being that if you are looking for a place to send your kids, you'll actually have to live in that part of the county. If you are just looking to teach there, you could live somewhere else...

Also, how far is too far out? Goose Creek contains a lot of the Berkeley Co. schools. Its about 25-30 min from Charleston. I will assume for my recommendations that Goose Creek is ok (Berkeley Co. is HUGE and includes a large rural area past Goose Creek.)

My recommendations are:
1. The Daniel Island School- Great K-8 school, excellent principal (I worked with her during my student teaching), but the area is very expensive to live in
2. Howe Hall Arts Infused Magnet School (AIMS) in Goose Creek- Because it is a magnet school, admission is through a lottery system. Anyone living in the district can get in, but its a small school and only a few can get in each year (there are usually about 400 applicants and 70 spots.) A great school for attending or teaching, but very difficult to get a job since no one ever leaves.
3. Westview Primary
4. Sangaree Elementary (but it further away...in Moncks Corner)
5. Hanahan Elementary

Cainhoy is the only other that is close to Charleston (other than the DI school) and it is not a very good school.

You can also find school info on greatschools.com and schooldigger.com

I appreciate your reply. That helps. I really don't want to be farther than about 20 minutes from Charleston. I am going to teach/student teach there, so it's just for me. I'm not sending any children there. I figure while I'm there I might as well stay near the coast.

I'd try to get into Daniel Island Elementary. It is a beautiful new school with a lot of support from the parents.
