Default Just loved Seabrook Island!

Well, we've just returned from a week on Seabrook Island SC. Spent a few days either side in Charlotte NC.
We absolutely loved Seabrook so thanks to y'all who described it to me! We drove past the farm shops, and through the canopies of live oaks, being extra careful not to maim any deer. Lots of oohs and aahs every time we saw bambi!
Freshfields had everything you needed (at a price) but there were moments when I found myself humming the theme tune from The Truman Show! What was that island called?
Most people we spoke to said that they had been coming back to Seabrook for over 20 years. We met a retired couple on the beach one day, and they invited us back for sundowners that evening. How's that for southern hospitality!
Renting bikes was a great way of getting around the island.
We watched the shrimping boats coming and going, saw numerous dolphins, and watched the sun setting in a spectacular fashion. What more could we ask for? Maybe a drink at The Sanctuary on Kiawah but unfortunately we didn't make it up there. I'll save that one for our next visit.

Sounds lovely. I have no idea where Seabrook Island is, but I'm now living in South Carolina so will definitely check out its location on the map or via Google. Thanks for sharing your vacation story.

That's a great time!
Did you get to downtown as well?
So who had the BEST time and why?

Just trying to let customers know what people like the best.
Was it Saks?

You may not believe this Jim but we didn't get to Saks! Saved our shopping time for Charlotte as it seemed a shame not to spend as much time as possible on Seabrook itself.
I think we all pretty much enjoyed everything. We spent a day in Charleston and did a carriage tour which was very interesting - the guide was extremely well informed. The architecture there is fabulous and I loved the quaint side streets and hidden gardens. Very european in lots of ways.
We all loved the wildlife and cycling, especially on the beach. It's definitely a good place to go to relax and unwind but for the people who live there full time, I think they have a great quality of life in a beautiful, very safe environment.
