Isle of Palms, sullivans, vacation?
My wife and I are planning a short (thu-sun) vacation this fall, and would like to check out SC. We have to go in early Nov (wife is a teacher, need to go when schedule allows). This time is outside of the regular hurricane season, correct?
We are basically looking to shop, eat and drink. Nothing too fancy, just stuff that we obviously can't experience here in Wisconsin.
I can't seem to narrow it down between Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, Folly beach, and Hilton Head. We've kind of ruled out HH because it seems so focused on golf and neither of us play.
Any suggestions? Are those 3 places basically the same or is there a reason to pick one over the other?

Isle of Palms will have more restaurants, bars, shops and small hotels. Sullivan's is more residential. Folly is a mix between the two.
Isle of Palms and Sullivan's puts you closer to Mount Pleasant and all the town has to offer for entertainment/amenities as well as a quicker jump to downtown Charleston.
You should be hurricane free in November, but I'm no meteorologist.

Thanks for the advice. Should we still consider HH? Is there much in the way of nightlife, bars, resteraunts there?

It's been awhile since I was in HH. I'll defer to someone else on that.

While November is still hurricane season, they are more likely in the Gulf or Caribbean that late in the season.

Sounds good. Lots of resteraunts, pubs, etc? Appropriate period architecture, etc? We know the beach is pretty much out in Nov, just looking for some warmer weather than Wisconsin can provide and some great seafood eats and drinks, along with nice evironment.

If you're lucky you'll hit nice weather in November. The water will still be fairly warm, also. On the coast you can still see 80 degree weather in November.
