Next week my hubby and I (43 + 47 yrs old) are holidaying in the Charleston area and welcome ideas of where to go at night; other than Restaurants; as we already know there are plenty; and we were looking to mix and socialize in with the locals residence; where Restaurants have you seated as a couple making it harder to mix?
All recommendations are greatly appreciated; we are staying in Kiawah Island from 5th - 12th September.

If you venture out to downtown Charleston, spend the day checking out the market on Market St., then try Hank's Seafood which has a community table. You can sit and eat with many other Charlestonians and visitors and the food is great! Afterwards, there are plenty of great bars nearby, I like the Library Rooftop bar for the view.

Have fun!

Kiawah puts you in a paradise setting that you will need to leave in order to get to the locals. Also, remember that this is a tourist destination, so many of the people you will encounter will be in the same boat as you!

For sure, I would start with the Farmer's Market on Marion Square on Saturday morning. You can get breakfast or lunch while you are at it.

Here is a link that will keep you busy. Be sure to check the different areas (Music/Dining) in the search request for each day. Let me know if it does not work.

Thanks Jim for your information; was worth us printing up to take with us.
Although with all these Hurricanes looming in towards Charleston; we may need to take a few days in Atlanta before heading over the Charleston? We will make that decision based on Friday's weather maps; thank goodness we have Travel Insurance; so we do have plenty of options without loosing cash.
We do appreciate your input;;;
