Default Veterinarian Recommendations for Summerville area...

Hi,

I am new to the area and I am looking for Veterinarian recommendations. I am specifically looking for a vet who is great with older cats and their special needs. I am also looking for one who really takes the time to listen as well as treat according to what the cat really needs, rather than just doing procedures that may not be necessary and that cost a small fortune....I've been to enough of those kinds of vets who just want you in and out of there.

I have searched for Holistic Vets in the area, but have not found any listed. Does anyone know of a Hollistic vet in the area that practices conventional vet medicine as well?

Thanks,

Cheri

We use Cental Ave vets for our Labs, they do handle cats too.

There are some vegetarian places around but I couldn't tell you where, I am an omnivore.

We've taken the dogs to College Park and Westbury. We really like Westbury, I've been taking our dog there for itching/hot spots that have arisen since moving to SC. Anyway, the vet's office staff calls weekly to see how our dog is doing -- if not better they get him back in, or this week, the vet himself called, and renewed his prescription trying to get rid of the yeast infections that were an aftermath of the intense itching. Anyway, I've been very happy with them so far, and the care they've given our dog.

Dr. Chad Reynolds at Central Vets is the BEST vet ever. He takes care of all of our rescue dogs and the former feral kitties. He's always been VERY generous to us, we have an assortment here that run the gamut of health problems due to their former abuse, neglect and lack of medical care.

I do not rec. College Park Vets.

I used College Park before and they were ok to us, but Central Vets opened up right accross from our subdivision so we moved to them and have been totally happy.

Found some Veggy food too at the Mustard Seed Resturant, wife had a portabella wrap there last weekend, I ate the chicken pasta she said it was good.

I have to throw in another vote for Central Veterinary Hospital. Great group of people who really seem to care and are totally reasonable. I don't think you'll be disappointed going there.
