I had great experineces with Paces Watch when I lived there. If you get a third floor unit it has a vaulted ceiling and that helps lessen the shoe-box effect. I also had friends live in Legends. They are really well sized and were in good shape but pretty far out.

I agree with the comment about a shorter lease. Once you move to the area you'll discover what areas you like as well as how the trade-offs of cost, space, location seem to work for you.

Actually, the two places I rented from in the last six years both got bad reviews on this site, and both ended up being absolutely lovely apartments.

My husband brought this up to our current rental's management when we gave them their 60-day notice to end our lease, and they just shrugged and said, "You would not believe how many people try to break their leases and get upset with the stated charges. Or how many people come in here and their father is dying of cancer, so they need to move, yet their forwarding address is another apartment in town, where they might have found cheaper rent." I'd highly recommend Grove in Oakbrook in Summerville, or for that matter our old apt CCT in NJ.

Therefore I very rarely listen to complaints about office staff. However, when someone mentioned the Thickett in MtP had bugs, boy were they not kidding.... saw a ton just looking at one vacated apartment.

We are sort of leaning towards Mount Pleasant because it seems to be a great area, with lots of things to do, and is near so many shops and beaches. Still, we're considering a few places in Summerville. Although, we're a little unsure about it because it's farther away.

So, here's the question, of the four apartments we're looking at, which should we choose? Does anyone know anything about them? Here's the list:

In Summerville: Farmington Village and Colonial Village
In Mount Pleasant: the Riverwood apartments and Harbor Pointe

I'd love to hear your suggestions. Thanks in advance!
Have you considered looking in the friendly neighborhoods of North Charleston ? , the only difference is you are a little further from the beach
