We have the Woodlands resort in Summerville, I am not familiar with the island resorts though I know there are some there but it is a long comute from somewhere you can afford to live.

The Sanctuary is the best resort in all of SC out on Kiawah Island, but I agree, you won't find much affordability out near Kiawah Island. Some spots of Johns Island might be alright though.

Hi mdraz1982,
I worked at Kiawah as a Tennis Pro and enjoyed it very much. You get a chance to meet guests from all over, and help them have a wonderful experience. A lovely resort.
Yes, it is a drive, but a beautiful one. It is about 40-50 minutes from W. Ashley, depending on where on Kiawah you would be working. The drive is tough at night, especially with some narrow roads. There is another resort out there called Seabrook. Another resort in the area is Dunes West. This is the other direction near Mt. Pleasant, Isle of Palms.
If you go with Kiawah, James Island might be a place to seek for living too. Would be glad to answer any further questions to help you.

It depends upon the property/job. There is a bus that goes to West Ashley, but it is basically for housekeeping.
