Default Oak Terrace Preserve Residents

My wife and I have been Charleston residents for over a year now and really love the area. We have been renting in West Ashley, but are considering purchasing our first home in Oak Terrace Preserve. I know the safety of the North Charleston area is called into question occasionally on this board, but I was wondering if there were any OTP or nearby residents that could share their own experiences.

That is not a bad area of N. Charleston - it's right be Park Circle which is considered a very up and coming area. You are close to 526, and the downtown area has some really great restaurants. There are also a lot of new developments going up there that I believe will increase in value in time - at least it will bring in a large new diverse culture of people since Mixson is going to be such a cool environment unlike any other subdivision I know of here.....have you already regsitered with the developer and are you doing new construction?

We're working with Centex to build a new home, and we plan on making a final decision in the coming week. It looks like the community is really working hard to try to improve the Park Circle area.
