Default Health Insurance....HELP

Hi,

My family and I are moving to Daniel Island at the end of this month. We need to find a GOOD health insurance plan. I would LOVE some feed back from those of you that LIKE your ins. company and those of you that HATE your ins. company. We are coming from MA and are used to spending $1,000 a month for coverage (w/o perscription coverage but w/ NO deductable). We have had a REALLY bad experiance with low end health insurance (MEGA LIFE) and do not want to go down that road again.

Please give me your input as I know nothing about insurance practices in SC.

Thanks....

You could also choose your family doctor and ask the person who does the billing what companies are the most popular and easiest to deal with.

I would suggest that you stay away from UnitedHealthcare.

Great idea...not sure why I did not think of that since it is what I did to find the plan that I have now where I have been living!

Thanks....

Here in South Carolina as in most states except in the northeast, you can find better rates the healthier you are or if you are willing to let the company rider any pre-existing conditions. Unlike in Massachusetts where few national A rated health insurers dare do business there (you only have the Massachusetts based HMOs and Massachusetts BCBS and United Healthcare -- the rest of the national insurers left the individual market in Massachusetts more than 10 years ago) you'l have lots of national health insurers to look at and choose between, especially if you don't have a bunch of medical problems.
