We are moving to James Island... What grocery stores are within a 20-25 minute radius? I am interested in hearing what are the cleanest, newest grocery stores, which offer the best selection or natural foods and good produce? I know there is an Earth Fare and Whole Foods...how far are they? How about main grocery store? Any reviews on what which to avoid and which are best like Publix, Piggly Wiggly, etc... Thanks!
Harris Teeter generally has higher prices, but it also usually has a much wider selection of products. It's a great store to go to when your recipe calls for smoked pepper parmesan asian gouda paste, or something else equally difficult to find.
Harris Teeter has the specialty stuff that Publix doesn'te even carry.
Pubix would be my second selection for the best.
The Pig usually has the best prices on all of you general everyday needs, they just don't have the off the wall stuff that the other two have. That is why we shop the Pig here in Summerville, Mr. K's has the best meat department of any of the surrounding grocery stores.
Those are all good. Avoid Food Lion on Folly Rd. Piggly Wiggly on Maybank is not as nice as the other Pigs. HT, Publix, Earth Fare, Pig on Harborview and Folly Rd. are all good. My preference is HT.
There is a Super Bi-Lo opening soon on Folly Road. It will replace the regular Bi-Lo in the same shopping center. That Bi-Lo was pretty awful. However, there is a newer Bi-Lo in Mt. Pleasant that is really nice, so I'm excited to check out this Super Bi-Lo.
Other than that, Harris Teeter and the Pig on Harborview (great beer and wine selection) are the places I frequent.

I agree with your choices and would include Earth Fare across the bridge.
1. Earth Fare
2. Harris Teeter
3. Piggly Wiggly on Harborview Rd. (since the OP will be living in Harbor Woods, this one is also the closest to her - less than a mile away)
4. Publix
