Chaleston Crime and Safety Taken out of Proportion? (Charleston: where to stay, dangerous)

I feel like the safety and danger of the city of Charleston is taken way out of proportion after reading all these posts. It makes it seem like the city has all these problems with crime and violence. Would the residents of the Charleston County area agree? I think any type of inner city area is going to have its problems just like any other city in the country.

I agree, it's a pretty safe city compared to most as long as you stay out of the bad sections... just like most cities you have to know where to stay out of or you will be a victim of some low life crack head or the likes
