Hi! I don't want to sound rude, mean or anything else, but it's almost unheard-of in "this area" that I know. However, when I moved to the Myrtle Beach area in 1996 to try to be closer to my family & job. I would like for you to know that I did, indeed, find a "Mom & Pop" owned, waterfront motel at Surfside Beach which allowed "the girls" to be there. I paid $450.00/mo. all-inclusive & it was a cozy little place w/2 beds, a sofa, sliding doors (which I would open in 40 degree weather & bumped their thermostat up to HOT) a bathroom with a tub & shower, a kitchenette which had a few needed items as well as it had a table & 3 chairs & I may have left out some of the amenities. They wanted their "motel" to try to maintain full occupancy throughout the year. I did this for ~4 months & when March rolled around, my 2 cats & I were booted out! It, again, was a cozy place & I enjoyed it! PS: You may want to find a place like this through the Sun. newspaper, computer, the yellow pages in the phone book or even visit the little "Mom & Pop" motels around the beach areas. Good Luck!!

I live in Castlewood Townhomes in West Ashley. Both 12 and 6-month leases are very reasonable, and include water, sewer, and basic cable. Living here, instead of more pricy complexes, has saved us a lot of money. I have only seen 4 or 5 Palmetto bugs in the two years we've been here, but no home in CHS is without some type of critter.
