Default Help me decide on the right area.

First post here, lots of good info on these boards, and greetings!

I was wondering if some of you would so kind as to help me decide on where to go on an upcoming visit. I plan on staying up there for about a month and my criteria are pretty simple.

1) I want to be centrally located (or nearby) wherever the action is. I mean near bars, clubs, nightlife, colleges, etc.

2) I want to be in an area that is predominately people in my age group, mid 20s to mid 30s.

3) I've been a single guy for about a year now and the quality and quantity of the opposite sex here in South Florida makes for extremely slim pickings. I am not a Florida native and I am not enjoying it. I'm ready to re-enter the dating world and start looking for someone to settle down with.

From what I hear from a friend of mine, I understand that the ratios are good for a guy in my age group looking to meet a female of approx the same, age. I was told 7:1 or something crazy. Is there any truth to that statement?

Basically my work allows me to travel anywhere in the world but I am going to try the good ole USA for now.

Don't shoot me but the bottom line is I am looking to move to a place where I can significantly increase my odds of meeting a nice quality girl, date, and have a better variety of selection that what I am used to here in retirement-central. The few girls we have here are just gold-diggers. The first question out of their mouth is "what kind of car do you drive" the second is usually a question about the house that I live in. The rest of them are insane or just too "ghetto" for me. No values at all. It drives me nuts...

Can't blame a guy for playing the numbers game right?

Signed-
Bored and Lonely In South Florida.

Downtown Charleston, James Island and Mount Pleasant, with a strong preference for downtown. 7:1, wow, I hadn't thought about that, but it's probably pretty close. I think you'll do alright here.

Sweet! Any places I should stay clear of? I'd like to be distanced from any bad areas as I plan on walking a lot especially after regular business hours when I am looking for things to do.

I had an offer for a place in North Charleston in the "Wando Woods Subdivision" but I was reading here on the forum that I may not want to be North. Any suggestions on this place as far as safety concerns, distance to where I want to be, etc?

I don't want to spend a fortune on cabs and waste time in traffic for this preliminary trip.
