Default Here we come!! Moving questions...

My boyfriend just got a job on Daniel Island! We've never been to S. Carolina. We figure we should live in Daniel Island or Mt. Pleasant. We want to rent at first. I have a little pug so I'd really like a yard. Does anyone know of a good apartment complex with small yards? How close is the beach to Daniel Island and Mt. Pleasant? I know I have more questions, but I'm so excited I can't think!!

Congrats. You should be able to find plenty of condo/townhome rentals on Daniel Island quite easily, I'd check craigslist: charleston, SC classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events, or any realtor's website under "rentals" on the MLS, they usually have an extensive list. The beach is about 15-20 minutes from Daniel Island, depending on traffic. Less from Mount Pleasant.

When should we start looking for places to rent? We won't be moving until May.

I think the teacher job fair is in April. You might want to get int contact with them now, and start the ball rolling. I'd start looking now, just to help get you a better idea of what's out there, and to help you settle in on an area. Get the job lined up first, everything else can fall into place afterwards.

When you come to look for a place check out Daniels Landing. It is a condo community, but there are some units for rent. They have a "beach" and nice natural areas, lots of water views within walking distance. I just sold a condo there and was really surprised how nice it was and they have nice amenities.
They handle rentals on site also.

How do I find "rentals" on the MLS? I've tried and can't find it. We are looking for a house, town home, or duplex for between 800 and 1000 per month rent.

Congratulations!
You are going to love Daniel Island!! I moved here 3 months ago!
I pleasantly refer to the Island as out little "bubble".....life is short....why not love where you live!
