great we make national news-west ashley shooting at mall
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Gunfire broke out during an argument outside a mall, leaving one man dead. The gunman was then shot and critically wounded by a law enforcement officer.
Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis says three men who were shopping Wednesday afternoon at the Citadel Mall began arguing in the parking lot. Then one of the men was shot and killed by another.
Francis says the gunman was shot in the leg by a law enforcement officer who happened to be at the scene.
Names haven't been released. Frances said two people are in custody but charges have not been filed.
Francis says a nearby school was briefly placed on lockdown. He says there were no other injuries.

This is the second shooting at a mall since I moved here in 2005.

Glad I didnt go to lunch there yesterday. 
I practically work right behind the Citadel Mall. We've had people run from cops through our parking lot before too. |

Ugh, the malls here suck! Citadel and Northwoods are pathetic. They need major updating, more upscale stores and better security. Maybe then they would get some actual customers and less thugs roaming them. As long as they keep their rundown looking image they are going to keep attracting the wrong element. The last time I was in Northwoods was when they put down that hideous carpeting about 5 years ago. I bet that looks real nice by now. I did all my Christmas shopping last year on-line. Never left the house. It was great!
