Default Question on planning a trip

A friend and I are planning a trip to the Charleston vicinity because we are interested in relocating there next summer. We are either going to stay a day and a half or two full days. Would it be difficult to reserve a hotel without reservations in the Charleston vicinity if we chose to stay an extra day. We are concerned it may be a problem because it is Christmas time. We also want to be sure the hotel is in a safe area of town. Is this a good idea or should we just book a hotel for two days?

Stay longer. You'll see more and get a better feel for the area. 2 days is still way too short to see everything, but I'd spring for the extra night if I were you.

We could if were able, but i am a teacher and I am leaving Ohio after the last day of school before Christmas break so that is the lastest we can leave. We need to be back to Ohio by Christmas Eve day. We are going to check out the Myrtle Beach/Conway area on the way back. We probably will spring for the extra next. Money isn't an issue we just want to make sure that hotels will be available if we decide last minute to book one.

I think you can book 2 days, and cancel if not needed up til 6 p.m. the day of and not be charged -- at least I think? So if you think you may stay 2 days -- reserve both days and then cancel the day of, if not staying the 2nd night.
