WE will be in town Nov 28-30, looking for a great restaurant for dinner Saturday night. My boyfriend wants to dress up, shirt and tie for him and dress for me. Can anyone reccommend a great restaurant where we won't be out of place if we are fancy?

Almost more places than you can count downtown that'll fit your criteria. I really enjoy The Oak Steakhouse. McCrady's is another option.

You'll get lots of recommendations.

Oak Steakhouse
Cypress
Il Cortile Del Re
Grill 225
Slightly North of Broad

It depends on what else you're looking for, but you really can't go wrong downtown.

Also depends on what type food you are looking for.

Tristans and the Boat house are awsome.

Also forgot Poogan's Porch, Tsunami, Pennisula Grill, and lets not forget Hominy Grill and the big nasty for Breakfast.

Thanks for the recs so far... we are looking at a restaurant for romantic dinner, I don't eat seafood so nothing all-fish, other than that we are pretty open to ideas!

All of the above are good. I would also consider Fulton Five and High Cotton. As stated by other posters, it's hard to go wrong. The hard part is deciding on one.

Peninsula Grill rocks! Make a late evening reservation, usually the chef (robert) will come out and sit and BS with you @ your table...

You won't regret it...

Romantic? Again I have to recommend The Oak Steakhouse. There you can get a cozy table in a "semi"-private room. The restaurant is in an old bank and the old offices offer rooms with three or four tables in them. It's a great atmosphere...romantic & worth it. When making the reservation (remember to do that!) just request something private.
