My boyfriend and I are moving to Charleston in June. We really want to find a little 2 bedroom house to rent for the first 6 or so months in Mt. Pleasant. We want rent to be 1000 dollars max. Is this realistic? Are all parts of Mt. Pleasant good places to live? I'm so excited, but it's so hard to not be able to go visit. All I can do is search the internet. Thank you for any advice you can give!!
One of the realtors can give you more information on the rental market, but I don't think you will find too many homes for rent under 1000.00 in MtP. It is a really nice area to live, close to everything.
It is very hard to find a 2 bedroom house. I looked on MLS and saw none. But I can find many 2 and 3 bedroom condos/town homes in nice areas for less than 1,000 a month. Contact your realtor and sk them to send you a list.
Since my last post above I have rented a 3 br/2 ba condo in the Battery at Park West for under $1,000. I actually think I got very lucky with this price as I've heard my rent was low.
The moral of this story is that there are opportunities out there. Do your homework and don't give up.
i also think that is a very low rent for the area, especially mt p. good luck!
