Just browsing the real estate listings in the Charleston area, my wife became intrigued by the Hunt Club development. Seems there are lots of new or nearly new homes there, and they look like great value for the money.
What are we missing here? What are the pros and cons of that location?
A Web site just tells us it is "west of the Ashley River."
Hunt Club is in outer West Ashley, off of Bee's Ferry Rd (use google maps for an address to get an actual idea of the location). It's about 5 minutes to shopping, hospital, etc. About 20 minutes to downtown Charleston. Some people I've taken through the neighborhood thought it just felt too far out for them from work, entertainment, etc. The neighborhood is fairly well manicured, with an active HOA, and plenty of lowcountry paint colors throughout. Floor plans range from 2200-4000+sf, and prices right now are ranging from $299k-450k.
There have been some unfavorable reports about a few builders in Hunt Club, so be sure and do your research.
I live in Hunt Club and have to say we are extremely happy. Our HOA is very active and we got a very good deal on our house in May. We purchased from Lennar and they have been very attentive and professional. The development is quiet and not to far from everything.
