Well good news is that you are closed to Fl and NC for other bike rallies, Daytona has both the spring and fall rallies, and the Honda Hoot is in the mountains of NC. And lets not forget about the tail of the dragon.....
310 curves in 10 miles...

I am wondering about jobs too. Here on Long Island my husband drives a tractor trailer on a daily route delivering beer. It's one of those trucks that you see in front of gas stations, restaurants, and supermarkets with a beer logo accross the sides of the trailer. His pay is average for that industry but he has full health benefits and a pension. He has been doing this for about 18 years with the same company. Last time we were in Sumerville, we talked to one of the drivers that was doing the same job there as hubby does here on Long Island. He said they also get health benifits and pension. The salery was about 1/3 less than he makes here which is fine for us. He also said that they are always looking for drivers (same as on Long Island as it is not an easy job with all the lifting). We called the company and they wanted him to come fill out an application right away and if his driving record was good could practally start in a day or two if he wanted. But that was in the end of last February. Now I wonder how much things have changed. He does not have to drive for the beverage industry. He has a CDL and it would not take much to get a hasmat (not sure of spelling).
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Not yet, but we will when we visit again this February. The one we contacted and also talked to the driver is Lee Distributer in North Charleston. It's almost the same exact company as hubby works for now. Same product (Miller), same uniforms, even the trucks are exactly the same. It makes it feel so familiar that it's almost wierd. The working conditions are much better in the Summerville area then where we live now because there are no basements to have to carry down heavy barrels and cases and no empties to pick up and bring back for redemption. He can also contact the soda and water companies. When were in Myrtle Beach during the same trip, we saw a guy with a big truck full of dish soap that he delivered to all the hotels and restaurants. We never even thought of that before.

Dorchester County has tried to reign in the rapid growth in subdivisions in their county. Berkeley is next door and has welcomed growth. There are about 35,000 platted lots with proposals to build homes on them. I think it will take 25 to 3 years. The Carnes Cross road area north of Goose Creek is growing rapidly. Google is building a facility here and DuPont is constructing a Kevlar plant.

Berkeley Co. needs to be careful with the growth or they will end up like Dorchester Co.. I live in GC and the intersection at Hwy 52 and 176 is horrible because of the traffic. Berkeley Co. should take care of the infrastructure before they approve these new developments and make the developer's pay for the roads.

The company I work for trucks Liquid N2, O2 and Ar. and we are currently in a slump, but we have never had a lay off, if it slows in one area the co moves drivers around to the busier areas on a temp basis.
