I have never even heard of Lacrosse being played here, not even in nonschool leagues, just not football....

Friday Night Lights is everything down here.

I thought it might be in the high schools.

We moved to Atlanta in 1997. Our boys were 9,7 and a new born. My 9 and 7 year old had played box lacrosse since they were 3 years old. There was NOTHING in the Atlanta area except for one team near downtown for 12 year olds. It took almost 5 years for the sport to develop. It is now continuing to grow at the high school level.

Seems like Mount Pleasant/Charleston is well on its way with having both field lacrosse and box lacrosse.

Im NYC retired PO out on Disability.....My wife and I are planning to move to South Carolina......Mount Plesant area within next year. Ive started investigating LAX programs because I know i want to get my infant son involved when he comes of age. Im from a LAX family....and i know i want to give him option down the road. I at least wnat him to have the opportunity ...If he dont want to play so be it...but i just hope the programs grow within next 10 years down there. I still wanna play club also....Ive playe for LI Hofstra for 5 years and def will get involved with coaching and playing. Iv e looked on line nd lax does exist down there and they are opening a big lax store this jan. Ive seen a lot od youth programs but i know there HS programs are few and far between. I know Wando has program...but may be like club ball through school. I hope u keep in touch with any info....I would appreciate it alot. Also Im looking into What insurance i can get down there because i mknow GHI is not accepted there. Keep in touch...Maxlax

The link above shows a men's league. They even have box lacrosse which is unusual in the south.
