Best seafood restaurants...
We are coming down to visit this month, the 25-27th.
I am SO excited to be coming down, even if for a short time.
Can anyone tell me the absolute best seafood places around? Bob loves seafood, he is from Rhode Island so you can imagine.
Thanks!

Bowen's Island has some of the best local oysters around here, if you can get past what the place looks like, but it may look better after they rebuilt from the fire?

Hank's is on the corner of a side street about a block over from the Market. If you walked down the side street across from Hyman's (Hayne St.) you would see Hank's. Find Hank's Seafood Restaurant

The Wreck is excellent too ... http://www.wreckrc.com/
don't bother with easterby's, that place sucks...
and one wouldn't expect that because donald and ronny ran bessingers for years as gen mgrs and know how to cook... that was a giant disappointment to me, if I ever see them again I'm going to mention it...

Bowens is nicer and the food still good. Dollar for dollar, you really can not beat Hyman's. If you want something less casual, Hanks is one of many.

Hanks has some relationship to the Peninsula Grill --which is one of the best restaurants not only in Charleston but in the country (or even the world) due to it being a Relais member which might explain why it is so good. Don't go there expecting mountains of fried food though. If you want to compare it to a Rhode Island restaurant, it is more like the Black Pearl or the Inn at Castle Hill. If you want the mountains of fried oysters, or plain seafood, without breaking the bank, I have a feeling the places at Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant or maybe A.W. Shucks downtown might be a better fit.
