It's funny, I live on LI, when they predict a few inches of snow everyone goes into shock and panic mode. The news stations start broadcating their "Stormwatch '09" crap, blowing everything out of proportion, people panic, clean off the shelves in the grocery stores, lines out to the street at the gas stations, everyone scared to death they'll be trapped in their homes and have to cut off and eat their own feet to survive.

Meanwhile everyone upstate is laughing at us for being such sissies.

It is pretty much the same reaction in South Carolina. We are lucky it doesn't stay cold for long, because the roads are usually iced over by the evening and all the transplants are screaming about how unprepared and backward SC is. Kind of like me calling the front desk to ask why my hotel room in Maine has no air conditioning.

Note to self: Don't complain! (because I probably would have)

jetsfan16 is on a distinguished road
It hasn't snowed yet on James Island, but I see many reports of snow in Adams Run, Yonges Island, Meggett, and western Charleston County.

The temperature is going down (37.6), but the cell won't move.

I just came from James Island and it wasn't snowing there, but over here on Johns Island it is really coming down...large flakes. My neighbors said it's been snowing since 4:00 here. It's coming down harder now than (5:30) it was 30 minutes ago. Very pretty!
