This is Shem Creek at sunset. I spend many summer days fishing or crabbing off their public pier there.

In the humble opinion of this photographer, I can't imagine that Charleston's beauty is being shared as much as it should be on this forum without this topic - "Pics of Charleston" (if it must be called that) - having its own sticky thread within the top two threads on the forum. In my humble opinion, visitors to City-Data.com who want to see photographs of Charleston because they have heard about its beauty should not have to figure out that perhaps the photograph thread is in the "Important Topics" thread. Nor should photographers who contribute, as they do their best to depict the city, have to hope people just happen to see their photographs by looking in a thread by a different title.

Photographs of a city and surrounding area are not just important on websites about cities; rather they are paramount on websites about cities, especially cities that are known worldwide for their beauty. After parking at the Battery and jumping out of my car, I had literally five minutes to shoot what I saw. The time of day was not optimum for making photographs by any stretch, and I didn't even have time to mess with my tripod to prevent camera shake, but I did my best and looked forward to sharing the photographs I thought worthy. I couldn't even find the photography thread, and I never would have thought to search for "pics of Charleston" or even "pics." I was trained that there are pics and there are photographs. I strive to create the latter.

I want to return soon and do a photo-shoot of the city. I hate to think that the photographs I choose to share "for free I might add" will be overlooked as so many Charleston photographs surely are overlooked in this thread. I even highly suspect that not nearly as many photographs ever make it into this thread because people have to go through the step in their minds that the photography thread is in the "Important Topics" thread. I notice the last post was on June 3 of 2014. Are people even looking in this thread anymore? I humbly beg that something be done about this.

I only found it because I kept scrolling down a bit...I agree it definitely should be a sticky! One picture is worth 1000 words...
