Hey Pkrplr,
Great pictures! In fact, they "knocked me out." Also, I think vodka and tonic is better than using gin.

wow, pokerplayer.. blooms on your roses this time of year?

Our KO roses up in coastal NC are just starting to put their spring baby leaves. You guys are far ahead of us.

My (deciduous) tulip magnolia on the other hand is just beautiful and full of pretty pink/lavender blooms. This cool snap and rain has helped the blossoms last longer than if it was warm. I even have some early red azaleas in bud. Are they in full bloom down there?

Soon my big Southern magnolia will start going thru spring molting and I will be constantly cleaning up her dropped leaves. Otherwise, I love the looks of her. She is one grand lady.

But the biggest welcome is the grass turning from brown to green.. Gotta love Spring!!

Yea I know, i thought it was kinda early?? i can remember them still growing in December, last year. Maybe the cold didn't harm them too much. None of my neighbors roses are blooming yet, they've asked what i did to mine...Other than miracle grow and tons of rose food, nothing. they go get full sun every day, from 8a - 5p the sun is baking them. maybe that did it??
