My husband is considering a job offer in the Charleston Area. He will have a large territory so travel time is not an issue. What I am looking for is an outstanding public high school (national school ratings and SAT scores are important), a newer community with lots of new construction (homes and retail) where houses are appreciating, a picturesque community where the town officials closely monitor the landscaping and look of the community, low crime, the so called "new place to live". I am currently living in Cary, N. Carolina in the Raleigh area which is "the place to live" (Money Magazine rates it as one of the best places to live in the country). I am looking for the same type of community in the Charleston Area. Any advice on where we should consider moving would be greatly appreciated.

Daniel Island comes to mind. It reminds me of Cary, a little bit. I'm sure Mt. Pleasant has communities/neighborhoods like this, as well.
