I was wondering if someone could help me with the following questions...
1. Please describe what each of these beaches are like (I wont be visitng until spring/summer but just planning now)
-Bulls Island -Folly Beach -Island of Palms -Kiawah Island -Seabrook Island or any other ocean front area!!
2. What are the good neighborhoods to explore in Charleston and where should I avoid?
3. What are some fun activities to do in Charleston?
Thanks so much!!

i have lived here since last fall and am just starting to get to know the beaches.
i like folly beach alot, pretty laid back, surfer style, younger beach crowd. isle of palms i do not like at all. so commercial and i don't think it was all that clean. i just didn't like the vibe. but then again i have only been in winter. still very commercial feeling. sullivan's island is beautiful...peaceful and quiet, not as commercial. residental, quiet side streets, walk into the beach from them. kiawah is also beautiful and not commercial, more removed feeling, more "natural" beach setting. i haven't been to seabrook yet. never herd of bulls island.
anyone been to caper island? i am curious about the beach there. the driftwood beach looks beautiful.

A good restaurant to try while in town is High Cotton. It has delicious food and great reviews. The prices are a bit steep but well worth the money. The brunch is also good and a good deal (9-15 $). While you are in town you should visit High Cotton. It is downtown and located on East Bay Street.

There are so many fun things to do in Charleston. So much history there.
And I agree with the comment about High Cotton, very good place!

Your assessment of the beaches is accurate.
Capers is beautiful - you have to go by boat. If you're into driftwood, Bull Island is a must. Boneyard Beach is named for the bleached wood.
