Best Publix in Charleston metro. area?
I'll be visiting the Charleston area in a few weeks and look forward to stocking up on some things from Publix, which I don't have where I live. I grew up on Publix in Florida and miss it immensely, so I stop in whenever I get a chance. I visit Charleston occasionally but haven't in a few years.
Back in the day when Publix was first getting established in the area, I know that the Summerville store on Old Trolley Road seemed like a nice one. Are there better ones nowadays? At least in Florida, some of the newer Publix stores are absolutely humongous and have a lot of bells and whistles that some of the other locations don't. Perhaps in Mt. Pleasant? I stopped in the Daniel Island location once and it was TINY.

Yes the one on Dorchester Rd , just a short distance from the desirable sub divisions of Whitehall, Coosaw Creek and Wescott.
The staff there are very friendly and rarely do you have to queue for long.

There are three Pubix stores in Mt Pleasant, as I am sure you have seen by visiting their website. I would consider them to be average size. All are reasonably recent construction.

The new one on Central Ave in Knightsville is the best one IMO.

The one on James Island is a pretty good one, doesn't have all the bells and whistles that some of the ones in Florida have, but has a good deli, bakery, and you can get almost any type of cold cut in a sandwich, and a good magazine selection (last time I looked, but th only basketball magazine they had were Duke and North Carolina's).
It was converted from a Winn-Dixie about ten years ago or so.
The one in West Ashley is also pretty good, as that was the first one in town, opening around 1994.
