It's 2009 and we can't play games in our own homes where money is involved without getting arrested. How stupid is that? I can't believe anyone really believes poker playing, etc. under those circumstances is wrong, especially given the lottery and other "legal" games. I suppose some people do, however, because they are certainly out there hunting and prosecuting these malicious game players! And I suppose it's okay to waste taxpayers' money doing so, especially in these tough economic times.

Its an old dumb ass law that has gone by the wayside for some 200 years. Hopefully now thanks to the persistance of my fellow poker players and the PPA, we are hoping to reverse the law =)

Well part I went ok, now its off to Greenville...I won't be making the trip, i think though we are gonna have a hard time up there. The upstate seems to be a whole lot more conservative and of the course the bible belt has a death grip on the upstate.
It will still have to pass the legislation before it can go into law.
From what we heard was just a load of crap...Persistancy will be the key! No of us will give up!!

Good luck, the Upstate is full of religious nutjobs who probably think poker is the work of the devil or something and should be banned ....this is one of those ridiculous blue laws that just irk me in this state...there is supposed to be a separation of church and state for a reason...not that it has stopped me from participating in large poker nights w/ sometimes up to a $1000 in the pot.

First off the is no such thing as seperation of Church and state, it is freedom of religion, reread your constitution....
Second please do not call people 'nutjobs' simply because their view of religion is different from yours....
Third some one please deal me in....
