Hilton Head for the Summer

Hi all! We have never been to Hilton Head and have been wanting to go with the family for a vacation. We have the opportunity to spend 2 months there during this coming summer (2009.) Is there enough to do to spend that much time there with two school-aged children? Are there day camps in the area? Is Hilton Head within close driving distance of shopping and entertainment? Sorry for the naivete, just have never been there. Thanks in advance!
