It never fails...If you post "looking for a 3 bedroom rental on James Island, with a yard etc"...you'll get a reply..."well I have a 1 bedroom condo in Greenville", ...it happens everytime...too funny!

Almost as good as putting a For Sale sign in your front yard and receiving 45 calls about how much the rent is.

Default Watch out for those scammers..

We made a ton of money cleaning out the garage last fall on Craig's list.. For the most part, they were serious local buyers and it was great.

But we did have one scammer who actually Fed-ex'd a $9000 Bank of Amer check with shipping charges included (like way over the value) for our bass boat. After much research we learned NOT to cash those kind of checks or we would end up in the pokey. "If it's too good to be true".. DON't

But yep, I have to agree with you.. you can get some weird responses. We had one that turned out to be totally valid; some guy who drove 200 miles to buy a $50 prop and showed up here at midnite... and then took an hour to decide! When the next guy called from 250 miles away to buy an aluminum extension ladder, I told him it was just too far for him to drive.

Be careful with rentals on Craigslist. There are some scams going on. Be weary of anyone saying you you can't view the property. It's been posted here before. I will try to find it later and update.

You even have to be careful on here. I have seen some of the worst mis-information on this website, too.

I'm worried about renting something that may be heading toward foreclosure...has that been an issue down there?

What happens if you do rent something and it does go into foreclosure? I have seen a lot of rentals on criagslist and wonder the same thing.
