Talking White Gables Rentals

Anyone have any experience renting in White Gables?
I have new friends who own there and love it, and I think I would really like it there, but since the lot sizes are something we are not used to, we thought about renting first.

Since these are SFH I guess it would be case by case as far as renting.
It looks/sells/feels like a great family neighborhood. The lot sizes are very small and some people like this feeling.

I don't have experience in renting, but there are several renters here. I have lived in White Gables for over two years and the lot size was a concern for my wife and I also. However, after living here, we have come to enjoy the small yard. Granted, we bought a corner lot across from one of the ponds due to our concerns.....making our lot much "larger". The community was designed to encourage neighbors meeting neighbors and front porch conversations. We enjoy sitting on the front porch and talking with neighbors and the many walkers on the sidewalks. Good luck with your decision!

I'm considering buying there and am concerned with the number of rentals. Are you seeing this as an issue with getting to know neighbors?

I couldnt say for sure, since I have not made my mind up yet and not living there, but thought I would answer with my experience thus far. I spend 2-3 days a week there with friends and have met alot of residents. I believe there are a bit under 500 occupied houses, and really most everyone seems to have quite a bit of knowledge of who is who. Renters included, as alot end up buying or who have friends there who currently own. It is a lovely neighboorhood, and I just adore everyone whom I have met. Oh, and I dont think the renting is quite a problem as in other communities, to my knowledge there is only about 16 houses for rent till sale or so, and a hefty price per month, most well over $1,200 a month.

Thanks so much, the more time I spend visiting and meeting residents, the more I just love it!

We have gone on a few listings appointments lately in White Gables. Some of the owners are ready to sell, but have no equity, so they are renting until they can sell.

I dont know if my head is working fully yet, but could a seller hold a mortgage or something till there was enough equity to sell? Like in my situation, I cannot comfortably purchase just yet because I need to sell a house first in a different state.
