Over the last few days, more closings have occurred around the Charleston area.

Johnny Dangerfield's empire of dealerships, which was 5 all over the state nine months ago, with dealers in Easley and Myrtle Beach, is down to a used car dealer in Moncks Corner and his Isuzu dealer, as his Subaru dealer on Savannah Highway has closed.

Due to his greediness, buying both the Subaru and Suzuki franchises, now the Charleston market has neither of those franchises, making us one of the largest markets in the nation without those. The closest Subaru dealers now are in Conway, Columbia, and Savannah.

Here's an article about it.

Also, Bobby Hartin's Sports Grill, a sports bar on Sam Rittenberg Blvd, one of the best ones in town, is closing after this week, as Bobby Hartin has lost 40% of his business since the beginning of the year.

Here's a story about this.

Viking could not make a go at the Suburu dealership either. I think we just are not a strong market for Suburu since the biggest allure is the AWD. Also I think it might have been better to relocate it to either MT P or somewhere in North Chuck or Summerville.

I've also heard some questionable things about Johnny's so I am not going to morn the loss.
