By "Mid-Atlantic", I guess you mean South of Hatteras.

Different Biome from there North.

But as far as big rocks on the beach,

The Sugarloaf (Pao de Acucar) in Rio is my favorite.

Yep, and like most human attempts at this, it does not worked as planned.

The Jettys slowed down the erosion (until stupid developments like Wild Dunes overcame the Corps of Engineers flawed attempts) on the Isle Of Palms (and also killed the surfing in the process), while increasing erosion/silting in Charleston Harbor and (esp.) on Seabrook Island which is following in the footsteps of the famous Morris Island.
