Default Couple Needs Romantic Vacation - Where Should We Stay?

My husband and I are looking to take a nice weekend trip to relax and hang out at the beach without getting terribly expensive.

Any suggestions on where to stay? We've never been.

Preferably beach front, if not walking distance.

Thanks

You might want to look into the Holiday Inn at Folly Beach. It's right on the beach and they just refurbed it.

We stayed at the Harborview Inn for our honeymoon. It was lovely and very romantic. They have a rooftop terrace where you can see a lot of the cityscape as well as the harbor. Also, walk across the street out the door and you're right at Waterfront Park. It's within walking distance of the Market and Battery areas as well. I would highly recommend it.
